Dr. Suad Hannawi - Biography
Suad Hannawi, BhSc; MD; MRCP (UK), FRCP (UK); MIPH (AUS), PHD (AUS), is a Consultant of Rheumatology at the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) of UAE. She is also the Chairman of Rheumatology in the MOHAP, Deputy Chair of the Central Research Ethic Committee (REC), Chairman of Dubai Health District REC, and a representative of the United Arab Emirates in the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC) Medical Research Committee and in the UNESCO Science Ethics Regulations initiative.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science (BhSc), and the Medical Diploma (MD), Dr. Hannawi obtained the fellowship of Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and completed her clinical training of Rheumatology in Australia. Dr. Hannawi proceeded with her academic attainment by obtaining a PhD in Rheumatology.
Her interest in the public health motivated her to proceed with getting a Master of International Public Health from University of Queensland, Australia, with Dean’s Commendation for High Achievement.
Dr. Hannawi has been awarded as best young investigator in Australia “Princess Alexandra” Research Week and awarded by the MOHAP for five consecutive years (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019) for her research activities, scientific achievements and contribution. In 2017, Dr. Hannawi was chosen as one of the best 5 physicians in the federal health institutes for the Prime Minister Medal.
Dr. Hannawi has published in number of journals and has presented at different national and international conferences. Dr. Hannawi is a reviewer for many international rheumatology journals and a member of the Scientific Accreditation Organization of the MOHAP.

Dr. Maryam Mohammed Jasem Samhan AlNuaimi
Maryam Mohammed Jasem Samhan AlNuaimi is currently an Internal Medicine Specialist/ Rheumatologist at Ibrahim bin Hamad Obaid Allah (IBHOH) in Ras al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. She is also the Medical Director and Head of Internal Medicine Department of the same hospital since 2017.
Dr. AlNuaimi obtained her MBBS degree in 2007 from UAE University in Al Ain. After completing her internship and residency at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, she eventually became an Internal Medicine Arab Board holder in 2013 and Saudi Board certified in Rheumatology in 2017. She has 5+ years of impressive track record in providing effective healthcare services in general medicine, and medical subspecialties, as well as core competencies in inpatients and outpatients care. In addition, she has 2.5 years’ experience in inpatient and outpatient rheumatology care including biological treatment experience, and joint/soft tissue aspiration and injections. She is currently running Rheumatology Clinics in IBHOH, consultations and inpatient care.

Dr. Noor Majed Almheiri - Biography
Noor Majed Almheiri is the Head of Medical Service Unit in Hospitals Department at the UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention-Hospitals Sector. She is a graduate of the UAE University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, obtaining her MBBS in 2010 and graduated with honor ranking in the top of Dean’s list. She is a Specialist Family Physician who completed her Arab Board Medical Specialization in Family Medicine in 2016. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and has completed a Master in Health Care Management at the Royal Collage of Surgeon Ireland (RCSI) and graduated with first class honor (2014). In 2019, Dr. Almheiri joined Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Government Innovation to get her Innovation Diploma from Cambridge University. Dr. Almheiri has led a number of clinical projects in MOHAP hospitals such as newborn screening, telemedicine outpatient service, clinical excellence and accreditation programs.

Dr. Mohsin Abbas - Biography
Mohsin Abbas graduated from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. He did the internship in Mayo Hospital Lahore and after clearing the PLAB UK examination proceeded to the UK where he finished the Senior House Officer rotations in rheumatology & various other sub-specialties of internal medicine. After completing the MRCP UK examinations he was trained as a Specialist Registrar in Rheumatology & General Internal Medicine in the Wessex, Northern & the North Western deaneries of the UK to acquire the certificates of completion of training in Rheumatology & General Internal Medicine from the General Medical Council of the UK. Subsequently he worked as a locum consultant in Rheumatology & Acute Medicine & then as a substantive consultant rheumatologist in the UK before moving to the UAE in June 2013.
Presently, Dr. Abbas works as a Consultant Rheumatologist in the Al Qassimi Hospital Sharjah. He also holds an additional post of Assistant Professor of Rheumatology with the University of Sharjah.
Dr. Abbas has an extensive experience of managing various rheumatologic illnesses & carries out multiple procedures for the immediate pain relief & to restore the function.
He has a passion for the academia & has published & presented in a number of national & international journals & rheumatology conferences.
He is a keen teacher & has a long track record of teaching & training undergraduate & postgraduate doctors & other allied health professionals like nurses & physiotherapists etc.

Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali - Biography
Ahmed Mohamed Ali graduated 1997 from Sylhet Medical College under Chittagong University as top student in the merit list of the university. He obtained his MD Internal Medicine and Rheumatology training in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh from 2001 to 2005. He is currently working as Internal Medicine Specialist and Rheumatologist in IBHOH RAK since Feb 2007. Dr. Ali has a special interest in rheumatology and is currently running a rheumatology clinic and looking after inpatients in IBHOH.
He participated in many papers as co-investigator and did thesis on patients of ankylosing spondylitis and looked for association between bowel symptoms, insomnia, depression and fibromyalgia tender points and ankylosing spondylitis.
Dr. Ali is a member of the Emirates Society of Rheumatology and the Rheumatology Committee in MOHAP UAE. He participated in developing guidelines in osteoporosis in the Ministry of Health UAE as well as in other activities of the MOHAP Rheumatology Committee.
Dr. Ali is also an Associate Professor of Medicine in Ras al Khaimah Medical and Health Science University, teaching MBBS to students since 2008. He is member of many committees in the hospital, doing quality improvement projects. He is certified as super user in the Cerner Millennium Training.

Dr. Samah Allam - Biography
Samah Allam, originally from Egypt, studied medicine and graduated from Ain Shams University in December of 1996 and eventually got her Masters of Rheumatology from Cairo University in 2004.
She has about 15 years of experience in dealing with emergencies, pediatrics, diagnoses and management of acute and chronic diseases especially the rheumatic diseases and all the related diseases to joints, muscles and bones as well as autoimmune diseases.
Dr. Allam is currently working in Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah as well as being a member of MOHAP Rheumatology Committee which include some activities to improve the rheumatology knowledge and services like making presentations on cases for rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis aimed at general practitioners with interest in rheumatology. Moreover, she has participated in public awareness activities such as participating in the World Arthritis Day and conducted local presentations on SLE on Lupus Activity Day.
